Belt thickener

Belt thickeners are continuous gravity filters with a screening belt which runs between two rollers and onto which the sludge to be dewatered is fed.
An even distribution of the sludge as well as a gentle treatment of the polymer sludge are decisive factors to achieve a high rate of hydraulic throughput and a high degree of thickening at a low rate of polymer consumption.
Advantages
high thickening output up to 8 percent DS for excess sludges
high throughput capacity of up to 50 m³/h per meter of belt width with little space needed
Thickening of sludges with poor settling qualities
high rate of separation > 98 percent therefore less solid matter in the supernatant
low costs for energy and polymer consumption
easy maintenance and operation
low investment costs
separate discharging of sludge and washing filtrate
